Dangers of sandblasting concrete:

 

Concrete Sandblasting can be dangerous, difficult, and without a doubt requires a professional. Concrete dust can contain silica or other air-born contaminants that can be hazardous if inhaled. Please refer to our silica information page for more information regarding silicosis. The staff @ Allweld Mobile Sandblasting are well versed in the dangers of sandblasting concrete. We follow strict Work Safe BC procedures to safe guard against these hazards. When sandblasting concrete the addition of water to cut down on dust is an option. Please refer to our wet sandblasting page for more information. Surfaces containing silica include: Concrete, cement, mortar, masonry, brick, tile, asphalt (containing rock and stone), fibrous-cement board, granite, sandstone, and slate contain silica.
